Paul Gimeli, a beloved figure in the Deer Park community, has sadly passed away at the age of 69. Born in Brooklyn, NY on October 3, 1954, to loving parents Paul and Laura Gimeli, Paul was known for his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to his business.
Paul's journey began as a young man growing up in Brooklyn. After completing high school, he embarked on a successful career that would establish him as a prominent business owner in Deer Park. He was the co-owner of Artie’s Taxi for 30 years alongside his father-in-law Artie DiBenedetto.
Outside of work, Paul was a devoted family man. He found true happiness in the loving embrace of his wife Joyce, who stood by his side throughout their many years together. Paul's children Deena, Lisa, Paul & son-in-law Michael were the pride and joy of his life. He took great pleasure in watching them grow into kind-hearted individuals who shared his values. Furthermore, Paul was blessed with three beautiful grandchildren: Leah, Brooke, and Kelly. He cherished every moment spent with them and reveled in creating joyful memories as they laughed together. Their presence brought immense happiness to Paul's life. In addition to his immediate family, Paul is survived by his brother John, who provided him with unwavering support and friendship over the years. Their bond was unbreakable, serving as a testament to the strength of their relationship. He is also leaving behind sister-in-law‘s and brother-in-law‘s, nieces and nephews.
Paul Gimeli touched the lives of so many throughout his journey. His caring nature, infectious laughter, and zest for life made him a cherished friend to countless others within the community. Those who knew him well will always remember how he had a knack for brightening even the darkest day with his warmth and humor.
A mass will be held on January 18th at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church located at 125 Half Hollow Rd., Deer Park, NY 11729. The service will commence at 10:15 am and conclude at 11:15 am. Visitations will follow at Mangano Funeral Home in Deer Park on the same day from 2:00-4:30 and 6:00-8:30. This gathering is an opportunity for friends, family, and the community to come together to celebrate the remarkable life that Paul lived.
Paul Gimeli's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him. However, his spirit will forever remain alive through the memories he created and the lives he touched. As we bid him farewell, let us remember his unwavering love for his family and friends, his dedication to his business, and his infectious zest for life.
