Richard J. Drake

Richard J. Drake, born on June 3, 1962, in Queens, NY, passed away on September 2, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend who leaves behind a legacy enriched by his laughter, kindness, and love for life.

Richard is survived by his wife, Tammy Drake, whose partnership brought him immense joy and support throughout their years together. He was a proud father to R.T. and his wife Brittany Drake, his daughter Caitlin and her husband Matt Montanez, as well as to Christopher Drake. Additionally, Richard cherished the role of grandfather to Avery, celebrating every moment spent with her.

He shared a close bond with his siblings, Bobby and Debbie, who, along with his children and grandchild, were central to his life. Richard's warm spirit and affection for his family exemplified the values he held dear.

An ardent lover of sports, Richard found great happiness in cheering for his teams, the Mets and the Giants. His passion for golfing was matched only by his enjoyment of watching reruns of his favorite show, Seinfeld, with loved ones by his side. Richard was also known for his deep adoration for his dog, Myla, who was more than just a pet; she was a cherished companion and a source of joy in his daily life.

Richard's legacy will be honored during visitations at Mangano Family Funeral Home, located at 1701 Deer Pk Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729. The visitation will take place on September 6, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, and again that evening from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. A prayer service will take place that same day at 8:00 PM at Mangano Funeral Home. 

He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May Richard J. Drake rest in peace, remembered fondly for his vibrant spirit, love for his family, and all the happiness he brought into the lives of those around him.
