Throughout his career, Richard was celebrated for his entrepreneurial endeavors as he ventured into creating his own solar panels for over four decades. An inventor and a business owner, he wore many hats and was recognized as a Jack of all trades. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Richard will be remembered for his dedication to conservation efforts and his passion for saving the earth.
In his leisure time, Richard indulged in various hobbies that brought him joy and satisfaction. He was known for being a skilled wine maker, a talented gardener, and an amateur glass blower. His diverse interests showcased his multifaceted personality and unwavering curiosity.
Richard's kind and humble nature endeared him to all who knew him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends alike. His great sense of humor and mischievous pranks brought laughter to those around him and created lasting memories cherished by many.
He is survived by his loving wife Deborah, his children Sarah Vanscoy, Richard Harrison, and Rebecca Harrison, as well as his grandsons Lucas and Zachary. Richard's legacy of innovation, kindness, and humor will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.
Services to honor and celebrate the life of Richard F. Harrison, Jr. will be held on February 24, 2024 at the Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home in Riverhead, NY. A Gathering will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a Prayer Service from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
Richard will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his contributions to both the field of engineering and the lives of those he touched. May he rest in peace knowing that his legacy lives on through the memories he created and the hearts he touched.
