Rita R. Meere, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025, at Maria Regina Nursing Home. Born on April 17, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY, Rita was a shining light in the lives of those who knew her.
Rita dedicated her career as a sales associate to various fine retailers, including Macy's and Lord & Taylor. Her warm smile and kind demeanor made her a favorite among customers and colleagues alike. She poured her heart into every interaction, and her passion for serving others was evident in all her endeavors.
Above all, Rita was known for her loving nature. She always cared deeply about her family, pouring her warmth and kindness into every relationship. As a devoted mother to her son John Meere and daughter Jeannine (Anthony) Gambuzza, she nurtured her children with love and support, coaching them through every challenge life presented. Her legacy continues through her granddaughters Jenna, Jamie, Jacqueline, and Kristina, who brought her immeasurable joy and pride.
Rita had a passion for cooking, often filling her home with the delightful aromas of her culinary creations. Family gatherings were a special occasion, filled with laughter, love, and, of course, Rita’s delicious meals that brought everyone together. It was in these moments that her loving personality shined the brightest, painting a portrait of a life well-lived.
As we gather to celebrate Rita's life, her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. A Mass in her honor will be at Saint Matthew Church in Dix Hills, starting at 10:45 AM, friends who wish to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Culminating in a burial service at Saint Charles Cemetery in East Farmingdale at 12:00 PM.
Rita R. Meere’s life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering care for her family. Her spirit will continue to inspire those she left behind, eternally cherished and remembered.
