Robert A. Harrison, Sr.

Robert A. Harrison, Sr., age 78, of Riverhead, NY, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at home in Riverhead. He was born on September 14, 1937 in Southampton, NY to Arthur Harrison and Muriel Warner, both now deceased. Robert worked as a truck driver for Union 174 out of New Jersey. He served as a reservist in the Air National Guard. He was a member of the Riverhead Moose for 50 years, and played softball and bowled for the Moose. He was sports fanatic and loved the Notre Dame football team. He raced at the Riverhead Raceway during the 1950's and 60's. He was also an avid outdoors man enjoying hunting, fishing, crabbing and camping. Robert was also skilled at the art of handcrafted decoys. He is survived by his loving sons Robert, Jr. (Dariel), Ralph (Kathy) Rogers, daughter Kathy (Curtis) Trent and son Ron (susan). Devoted grandfather of Danielle (Anthony), Curtis, Robby, Caroline, Steven and Marisa and great grandfather of 4 uncle to 1 nephew and 5 nieces. Dear brother to Paul Harrison and Betty Harrison - Sabo. Step father to Donna Watkins.He is survived by his good friend and caretaker Lee Preston. Also surviving is his first wife Judith Staib - Harrison. He was predeceased by his second wife Carol Rogers Harrison, his third wife Delores Watkins, step mother Elsie Harrison, brother Arthur Paul Harrison. Visitation for Robert will be on Sunday, March 13, 2016, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Tuthill - Mangano Funeral Home, 406 East Main Street, Riverhead, NY 11901. Funeral service will be on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 10:30 am, also at the funeral home, with Pastor Charles Byer of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Aquebogue, officiating.
