Robert “Bob” Stewart, Jr., age 77

Bob Stewart age 77, passed away on June 30, 2016 in Bay Shore, NY. He was born in Philadelphia, PA. He was the child of Gertrude (Beeg) and Robert Stewart II.

Bob enlisted in the Navy at a very young age (17) and served on the Intrepid and the Forestal .

He loved to fish and had a number of boats in Long Island and the Florida Keys. He was also an avid Amateur Radio operator. He started this hobby when he was in his teens. He went on a number of expeditions to uninhabited islands with other Amateur Radio operators and contacted the world. He also loved to go Metal Detecting on the beaches of the south shore and found many interesting items. In his younger years he was an avid duck hunter along with his black lab Lady. He couldn’t wait until the Sundays in the Fall for his football games to start again. He was a great husband, father, step-father, grandfather and great- grandfather.

Funeral Service will be held at the Mangano Funeral home in Deer Park, NY on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at 2 pm to 4:30 pm and 7 pm to 9:30 pm. Internment Wednesday July 6, 2016 at between 11 and 11:15,

Bob was predeceased in death by his father, Robert, his mother Gertrude and his son. Bobby.

Bob is survived by his wife Anne, son John/J eannine, son Al/Kathy, stepsons, Jim/Pat, David/Archie, stepdaughter, Ruthanne/Jim and brother Jack. Nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
