Robert A. Harrigan, Jr., husband, father and veteran of the US Navy, passed away on November 8, 2023, in Phoenix, Arizona. Born on August 17, 1942, in Rockville Centre, NY, Robert led a remarkable life filled with love, service, and dedication.
Robert proudly served in the United States Navy from 1960-1963. His time in the Navy instilled in him a sense of honor and discipline that shaped his character throughout his life. Robert carried this deep-rooted patriotism with him always.
Robert began his career as a technician for a telecommunications firm, where he showcased his incredible expertise and commitment to his work. With his meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills, Robert quickly became an invaluable asset to the company. Throughout his years of service, he consistently went above and beyond to ensure the smooth operation of the firm's telecommunications systems.
An adoring husband, Robert shared an unbreakable bond with his beloved wife Elizabeth Rose Harrigan. Their enduring love and unwavering support for each other were truly inspirational to all who knew them. Together they built a lifetime of memories filled with joy and laughter. Robert was also a loving father to Kim (Stephen) Balistreri and Kyle (Bruce) Goshorn. He cherished each moment spent with them and took great pride in their accomplishments. His guidance and unconditional love were instrumental in shaping their lives. In addition to his immediate family, Robert leaves behind two adored grandchildren whose lives he enriched with endless love and affection.
Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects at the visitation event which will be held on November 16th at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home located at 406 E Main St, Riverhead, NY 11901. The visitation hours will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home at 11:00AM. A burial service will follow at Long Island National Cemetery, located at Pinelawn Road Wellwood Ave, Pinelawn, NY 11735. The burial ceremony will commence at 12:00 PM on the same day.
Robert's memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service that will continue to inspire and uplift future generations. As we bid farewell to Robert A.
