Roger Waggoner

Roger Waggoner, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024, in Riverhead, New York, at the age of 78. Born on May 25, 1946, in Queens, New York, Roger's life was marked by dedication to his family and service to his country. 

Roger proudly served in the Navy, an experience that shaped his character and instilled in him values of discipline, honor, and commitment. His life was a testament to the impact of military service, which he carried with pride throughout his years. 

He is survived by his devoted wife, Joan Waggoner, who stood by his side through all of life's challenges and joys. Together, they created a loving home filled with warmth and laughter. Roger's legacy continues through his children, Lauren (Thomas) Jacobsen and John Waggoner, who carry forward the values and lessons he imparted to them. As a grandfather, he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren: John Waggoner, Kinsley Jacobsen, Kennedy Jacobsen, Carter Jacobsen, and Olivia Waggoner. He delighted in their achievements and ensured they felt his unwavering support and love. Roger was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Waggoner, who he missed dearly. 

A visitation will be held on December 12, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home, located at 406 E Main St, Riverhead, NY. A prayer service will be at 7:00 PM. Roger will be interred at Calverton National Cemetery on December 16, 2024, with the inurnment set for 12:00 PM.
