Rose Carmen Scalabrino, born on September 29, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York, departed this life on March 3, 2025. She lived a remarkable journey spanning nearly nine decades, filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit that touched all who had the privilege to know her.
As a devoted mother, Rose is survived by her son, Peter (Maria), along with her daughters, Tara Bernocco (Larry), Felicia, and Tricia Sande (Michael). She will be deeply missed by her five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom cherish the countless memories shared with her. Rose embraced her family with open arms, providing a nurturing home filled with warmth and encouragement. She was the beloved matriarch whose legacy of love will continue to resonate through her children and grandchildren.
Her life was a tapestry of cherished moments woven together with passion, kindness, and an innate generosity that left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Rose’s laughter was infectious, and her unwavering love served as a guiding light for her family. In every gathering, her presence would shine brightly, illuminating the hearts of those around her.
A visitation for Rose will be held at the Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home, located at 1701 Deer Park Ave., Deer Park, NY, on March 6, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on March 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 10:30 AM. Following the visitation, family and friends are invited to celebrate Rose’s life during a Mass at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, 125 Half Hollow Rd., Deer Park, NY, at 11:15 AM.
As we gather to honor her life and memory, let us carry forward the love she instilled in us.
