Rosemarie J. Hammel

RoseMarie Hammel, 82 born in Brooklyn, a long time resident of Bay Shore, passed Monday, August 5th surrounded by family.
RoseMarie was a hair dresser by trade, also worked for Brentwood School District as a teachers assistant for 36 years. She loved volunteer work at St. Anne's church soup kitchen.
She adored the traditions and culture of the Native American people, she attended Pow Wow's yearly and was especially moved by the music. Her passion was her family she was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her children, Russ Hammel (daughter in law) Annette, Kim Gregory (son in law) Steve, Glenn Hammel, Lori Ghiringhelli (son in law) Rob, Gary Hammel (daughter in law) Michelle. Grandchildren: Kelly, Stephanie, Jason, Dillon, Stephen, Alexandra, Chelsea, Ryan, Jessica, Kristiana, Taylor, Matthew, Lauren and Rachel. Great Grandchildren: Christopher, Alaina, Miranda, Brayden, Chase and Luke. Her sister Maryann Frusco (brother in law) Lewis, Niece Christine and Nephew Craig.
She is greeted in heaven by the love of her life Matthew J. Hammel, Mother Frances Velotta, Father Charles Velotta, Brother Gerald Velotta God mother Aunt Peppy and great granddaughter Aubrey and many other.
