With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Rosemarie Pinto, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. On July 31, 2024, Rosemarie earned her wings in Middle Island, NY. She was born on September 17, 1939, in Jersey City, NJ.
Rosemarie was a truly remarkable woman who left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Her career began as an administrative assistant in the late 1950s, where she met the love of her life, Joe. She later became an Insurance Consultant and finally a cherished librarian. Throughout her journey, Rosemarie’s heart was always devoted to her family and those around her. She had a zest for life, enjoying travel, playful jokes, and being the hub of family news.
The centerpiece of Rosemarie’s life was her special needs daughter, Rosemarie (fondly known as Rosey, Rosebud, Rosieroo). Her unwavering love and dedication to Rosey were profound and inspiring. This deep bond was the heartbeat of Rosemarie’s existence, and her selfless care and sacrifice were given without a hint of complaint or regret.
Rosemarie is survived by her loving children: Joseph J. Pinto, Jr. and his wife Leigh, James Pinto and his wife Lori Elway, and Rosemarie Pinto. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Jennifer, Katherine, Ashlyn, Brittany, Jessie, Jake, and her great-grandchildren: Christian, Beckett, Ava, James, Bowen, Elliot, Everett, Anderson, Kaleigh, Barrett, and Amber. She also leaves behind her beloved brother, John Mangano and sister-in-law Rae. She was predeceased by her parents, Salvatore and Eleanor Mangano, brother Edward and nephew Robert.
A visitation to honor Rosemarie's life will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM at the Mangano Family Funeral Home of Middle Island, located at 640 Middle Country Rd, Middle Island. A funeral service will follow on Friday at 11:30 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Washington Avenue, Plainview, NY. Rosemarie will be laid to rest beside her husband, Joseph Pinto, at Long Island National Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
Rosemarie Pinto will be remembered for her boundless kindness, wisdom, and resilience in the face of health challenges. Her determination and inspiring spirit saw her through over 30 years and five battles with cancer, always facing each day with grace and strength.
In a fun fact not widely known, Rosemarie once aspired to be a police officer. When asked why she didn't pursue this dream, she simply replied that raising her family was her priority.
Rosemarie Pinto's love, laughter, and legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. May the Lord Jesus Christ welcome her into his kingdom of peace and love and all those who preceded her embrace the reunion. Heaven will never be the same nor the lives of those she left behind. Rest easy we have it from here.
