Thomas M. Ambrosecchia, a beloved and cherished member of the community, has passed away peacefully on November 9, 2023, in West Islip. Born on October 27, 1929, in Manhattan, Thomas led a remarkable life filled with love, loyalty, and compassion.
Thomas will be fondly remembered for his many qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. He possessed an unwavering loyalty that extended to his family and friends. Thomas was always there when someone needed a helping hand or simply a listening ear. His caring nature touched the lives of many, as he selflessly devoted himself to making others feel loved and supported.
A handyman for everything, Thomas had an exceptional talent for fixing things and finding creative solutions to any problem. His resourcefulness and willingness to lend a hand made him an invaluable asset to those around him.
In addition to his kindness and practical skills, Thomas also proudly served his country in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 as a dedicated member of the US Army. His military service was a source of great pride for him, embodying his sense of duty and commitment.
Outside of his military service, Thomas found joy in various hobbies and interests throughout his life. He had a green thumb and loved spending time in his garden, nurturing beautiful flowers and plants. Additionally, he enjoyed the thrill of gambling, finding excitement in games of chance.
Thomas's memory will forever be treasured by those who survive him. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Arlene in 2018 but leaves behind a legacy through his children: Thomas Jr.wife Lynn, Ruth (Dennis) Calnan, Arlene, Christine (Jack) Ranck, and Pauline. He was also blessed with seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren who brought immeasurable joy into his life.
To honor the life of Thomas M. Ambrosecchia, a visitation will be held at the Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home on November 13, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and later from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. A Mass will take place on November 14, 2023, at St. Patrick RC Church in Bay Shore at 11:00 AM. Following the Mass, Thomas will be laid to rest in his final resting place at Long Island National Cemetery in Pinelawn during a burial ceremony starting at 12:30 PM.
Thomas M. Ambrosecchia's legacy of loyalty, love, and care will continue to inspire all whose lives he touched. He will forever be remembered for his selflessness and unwavering support for those around him. As we say our final goodbyes, let us celebrate the remarkable life of Thomas and hold dear the memories we shared with him. May he rest in eternal peace.
