William P. Rose, a dedicated police inspector for the New York Police Department for over 30 years, passed away on July 5, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of commitment to his profession and love for his family. Born on April 5, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York to his parents William J. Rose and Mary Rose.

Throughout his esteemed career, William earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and community members. His work as a Police Inspector was more than just a job; it was a true calling that he embraced with passion and integrity. Colleagues remember him as a dependable and caring individual who always put the needs others before his own.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, William's proudest achievement was his enduring marriage to his late wife Florence Rose for an impressive 65 years until her passing in 2020. Their love story served as an inspiration to all who knew them, reflecting a deep bond built on mutual respect and unwavering support. William and Florence met in Brooklyn and were childhood friends growing up.

William is survived by his son William J. (his wife the late Roseanne Rose), daughter Kathleen (her husband John) Hall, daughter Patricia (her husband Michael) Lynch. Although preceded in death by his son James Renne, their memories continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew them.

William's role as "Cherished Baba" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy. He leaves behind a loving legacy through his grandchildren Michael, William, Elizabeth, Sean, Caitlin, along with great-grandchildren Anthony, Samantha, Charlotte, Jack, William, James, Savannah, and Claire.

A veteran who proudly served his country, William embodied honor and courage both in uniform and out. His dedication to duty extended beyond the badge he wore; it permeated every aspect of his life.

Family, friends, former colleagues, and acquaintances are invited to pay their respects at the visitation scheduled on Monday, July 8th from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Mangano Family Funeral Home in Deer Park. Closing Prayers will be held at the same location on Tuesday, July 9th at 8:30 AM for those who wish to pay their final respects. A funeral mass to follow immediately after at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 7705 84th St, Glendale, NY 11385 at 10:30 AM. Burial will be held at Saint John's Cemetery, Middle Village, NY. 

William P. Rose will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for the love he shared with those around him. His warm smile and kind heart touched the lives of many and will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace knowing that he made a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.
